About FactorFable
FactorFable takes the internet's strangest, most persistent claims — conspiracy theories, unexplained phenomena, urban legends, stories that sound too wild to be true — and actually checks them against the record.
Some of these stories turn out to be substantially true. Some fall apart under basic scrutiny. Most land somewhere in between: a real event wrapped in decades of embellishment, or a documented cover-up with an unproven conspiracy theory built on top of it. Our job is to sort out which is which, and show our work doing it.
How We Work
Every case file on FactorFable follows the same structure: we lay out the legend as it's popularly told, then weigh it against what's actually documented — public records, news archives, court filings, declassified government documents, and published research, wherever the trail leads. We close every story with a clear verdict: a fact-to-fable percentage split, or a direct call when the evidence is decisive one way or the other.
We don't present speculation as established fact. When a claim is unverified, unfalsifiable, or contradicted by the available evidence, we say so plainly in the verdict.
What You'll Find Here
- Investigations into well-known conspiracy theories and how they originated
- Unexplained phenomena, examined against what's actually been documented or debunked
- Declassified government programs and historical cover-ups that are genuinely on the record
- Forgotten history, separated from the embellishment that grew up around it over time
Why FactorFable Exists
A claim can travel the internet for years before anyone checks where it actually came from. We want to be the part of the process that checks.
